The Iceman's Game Journal

After seeing Tim's Game Diary, I started this blog to give me some incentive to actually finish some of the 461+ video games I have (of which I have finished 41.) Hope it works.

Weekly Challenges--July 17-July 23, 2006

First an update on last week's challenges, I got most of them done. Yes, once again I failed to complete the Warcraft challenge. and in case you went through the archives and are saying to yourself "I thought he finished that a while ago." you would be right, but I accidentally deleted the folder while cleaning the hard drive and now I have to start over :(

Could be worse. I could get myself stuck like I did in Metroid: Fusion. After defeating Nightmare, I did some exploring and ended up finding some Speed Boast blocks, so I broke through them and kept going. no problem right?

Wrong. there is no way to gain enough speed on the otherside to break through them again (as far as I know) and I have explored everywhere I could but keep finding red doors, which I haven't unlocked yet. like I said. I'm kind of stuck right now.

You might notice that I have myself a few less challenges this week. I want to try and get unstuck in Metroid: Fusion and try to finish up some of the Long Term Goals.

1.) Rescue Clank in Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando.
2.) Visit Clank's Apartment on Endako in Ratchet and Clank: Going Command.
3.) Complete 2 missions in Star Wars Battlefront 2.
4.) Finish the first 3 scenarios in the Human Campaign of Warcraft: Orcs and Humans

weekly Challenge--July 10-July 6, 2006

Last week I posted the challenges late, so I didn't make many. This week it's back to normal with 5 new challenges.

2.) Finish the first 3 scenarios in the Human Campaign of Warcraft: Orcs and Humans
3.) Defeat Nightmare in Metriod: Fusion
4.) Find the jamming array on Maktar Nebula in Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando
5.) Win the Arena Battle on Maktar Nebula in Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando

Weekly Challenges--July 3-July 9, 2006

Sorry about not updating for a while (I'm starting to sound like a broken record.) Eric, the friend who was coming to visit, got here safe, and I almost got "The Iceman" up to 75 points, but it didn't matter since Eric forgot to bring the memory card with his Smackdown VS Raw character on it. In the end, I got him to 70 points. Still lots of room for improvement, but not bad.

Since I am posting this on Thursday, I don't have time for many goals this week, so there will just be 2, both from Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando.

1.) Explore the Swamp Ruins on Oozla
2.) Find the Megacorp Store Entrance on Oozla.

Weekly Challenges--June 12-June 19, 2006

Well I'm back. I wanted to be back last week, but My boss was a jerk, and after saying for 2 weeks that he would find someone to help so that we could have a day off, he did nothing. he just kept saying "I'm taking care of it" which means nothing to us in the bakery anymore. Because of that, we were working all week, haven't had a day off since Memorial Day (I do too much on Sundays to consider them a day off) and I was tired. Fortunately, the person who use to help us out will be back from a trip to Germany this week and will be helping us out again, so I will have Friday and all of next week off (A friend is coming to visit)

I could go on about the crap we are dealing with at work, but you don't want to hear about that. You want to know what this week's goals are, so I'll tell you.

Like I said, next week a friend will be coming to visit. Last year when he was here, we fought some epic battles in Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain, but if I remember right, we split the series. This year our battles will move to Smackdown VS Raw, but before he gets here, I need to build up my character. He only has 51 points right now, with his highest stat at 5 (Submission and and Durability) I am guessing that Eric will be using power based tactics like he did last year, so my focus on speed and submission moves should help me, but it will be a lot easier if I can build up my stats. So my goal for this week is to get "The Iceman" to at least 75 points, focusing on Submission, Durability, Technique, and Speed.Strength and Charisma will be increased if I have time. I want to get all my stats up to at least 7 by the time he gets here.

In case you are curious, here are the stats for "The Iceman"

Strength 4.5
Submission 5
Durability 5
Technique 4
Speed 4.5
Charisma 4

I will update this over the course of the week.

1.) Get my Smackdown VS Raw character, "The Iceman" up to 75 points

Weekly Challenges--April 24-May 1, 2006

I know, I know. I'm posting late again. In my defense, it's not my fault this time. I tried posting last ngiht around 6, but there was a problem with Blogspot, so I couldn't.

Last week I had one of the highlights of my time playing Kingdom Hearts. I met the greatest Disney character of all time, Tigger! I even got bounced by him :) Hope he shows up more later

As far as the Warcraft goals are concerned, I almost made it. I was almost done with the third scenario, when a friend IMed me, causing my laptop to switch to MSN Messneger and causing Warcraft to stop responding. Why I didn't save my game, I don't know. normaly I do at least after each map, but for some reason I didn't. Because of this, Warcraft has become my top priority for this week.

I am also adding 2 more goal slots. Since most of my games are on PC, I can play them while watching TV. I also have a few Gameboy and GBA games that I am currently addicted to and can playwhile doing other things.

Now onto the goals for this week.

1.) Win the Pegasus tournamnt in Kingdom Hearts
2.) Reach level 17 in Urban Dead
3.) Finish the first 3 scenarios in the Human Campaign of Warcraft: Orcs and Humans
4.) Discover the source of the roots in the reactor core in Metroid Fusion.
5.) play for 2 hours in Final Fantasy 6 for SNES

Note that I called it Final Fantasy 6, instead of it's US name of Final Fantasy 3. I am a traditionalist when it comes to the FF numbering system, and I always use the original numbers used in Japan.

Weekly Challenges--April 17-April 24, 2006

YYYEEEAAAHHH!!!

I am posting this week's challenges on time!!!

I did pretty god last week. I got to level 14 in Urban Dead, almost got to level 15, and made it to Bale Mall. Since I am so close to getting to level 15, I am going to make this week's goal to get to level 16.

I also beat Jafar in Kingdom Hearts. In fact the only goal I didn't complete is the Warcraft one. My Laptop is having serious issues right now, but I ran anti-virus and spyware software, cleaned up the hard drive (freed up almost 6 GBs) and I plan on defragmenting it while I sleep, so it should be running fine tomarrow. Might have to tackle that first scenario :)

Anyways, on to this week's challenges.

1.) Beat Monstro and the Parasite Cage.

2.) Reach level 16 in Urban Dead.

3.) Finish the first 3 scenarios in the Human Campaign of Warcraft: Orcs and Humans

Weekly Challenges--April 7-April 17, 2006

ok, this is getting to be kind of a habit. I was ready to post this week's challenges, but then a friend showed up. He left around the time I left for church for a wedding rehearsal (I was running sound.) I got back just in time to watch Doctor Who and then it was time to go to bed. Saturday I only had about 1 hour after work to eat, shower, and change before I had to go to church for the wedding. I got home and had to clean the apartment because company was coming. Sunday is normally a lazy day, but my sister was home, so I had to go out to the farm and spend time with the family.

Because I have been doing so bad, and because nothing happens Mondays, I an officially changing the dead lines to Mondays starting this week, which will give me a few extra days. Too bad my bro will be in town for Easter during those 2 days, so I probably won't get much playing in, but you never know.

As for last week's challenges, I finished Ratchet and Clank, which was the main one. Unfortunately it is getting busy at work, so I wasn't able to play any Warcraft this week. Hopefully I will get those done this week.

With Ratchet and Clank done, I find myself needing a new Console game. the logical choice would be Ratchet and Clank Going Commando, but since Kingdom Hearts 2 is now out, I am going to finish Kingdom Hearts first.

Now for this week's challenges

1.) Get through the Cave Of Wonders and beat Jafar in Kingdom Hearts.

2.) Get to Level 14 in Urban Dead.

3.) Finish the first 3 scenarios in the Human Campaign of Warcraft: Orcs and Humans

Weekly Challenges--March 31-April 7, 2006

Sorry about posting this weeks challenges late. In my defense, I didn't forget this time. I was about to post them when a friend showed up Friday. After he had been here for a few minutes, my brother showed up. I didn't even get to try the games I got off Ebay until today. I also didn't get to finish Ratchet and Clank

I crashed and burned on the Utopia challenge. I got hit big time Sunday night and Monday afternoon. lost almost 300 acres. I am rebuilding, but since this Age ends soon, I'm not going to worry too much. Hopefully I can make a big hit before the end of the age.

Anyways, here are this week's challenges.

1.) Finish Ratchet and Clank

2.) Get to Level 13 in Urban Dead

3.) Finish the first 3 scenarios in the Human Campaign of Warcraft: Orcs and Humans

Weekly Challenges--March 24-March 31, 2006

Sorry about not posting this week's challenges earlier. I meant to post them on Friday, but I fell asleep and I forgot about it until today.

Another easy week this week. Payment for those games was received on Tuesday, so I am guessing they will be here either tomorrow or Tuesday. Plus I cut off the tip of my thumb last night while making supper. Of course my first thought was whether or not it would affect my gaming or biking. Fortunately the answer to both was no. Unfortunately my thumb does hurt after a bit, or if I need to use a D-Pad, so I can't play to long with out taking a break.

Anyways, on to this week's challenges.

1.) Get to Kalebo III in Ratchet and Clank.

2.) Train 1000 soldiers into knights in Utopia.

3.) Get to level 11 in Urban Dead.

Weekly Challenges--March 17-March 24, 2006

YEAH! I completed all of last weeks challenges!

Now that that is out of the way, I suppose I should give an update on the long term goals.

1.) No progress in the Fatal Fourway match.

2.) No real progress on the amount of Bolts I have, but that is mainly because I had to spend a lot on ammo while I was getting the Golden Bolts. I am at about the same amount I was at last week at this time.

Now for this week's challenges. There won't be many because I got some games off EBay and they should be here by Wednesday, so I will want to play those when they get here :) I will post about them when they arrive.

1.) Get to Quatru in Ratchet and Clank.

2.) Get to 1200 Acres in Utopia

Weekly Challenges--March 10-March 17, 2006

Sorry about not updating this more recently. We have been really busy at work and I have been to tired to play many games or update my blogs. First, an update on the previous challenges.

1.) I'm about a 100,000 bolts away from the R.Y.N.O., so I got a ways to go, but I got a good start.

2.) I'm not even close to winning the Fatal Fourway, but I am training. I have beaten each of them in singles matches, so the next step is beating them in cage matches.

3.) I got 23 of the 30 Golden Bolts that I should have gotten the first time through, so I am really close to achieving this goal.

Now that that is out of the way, it's time for some new stuff. It will take a while to finish the Fatal Fourway and the R.Y.N.O., so I am moving those to a new section of the side bar, Long Term Goals. The Golden Bolts goal should be no problem, so that will stay on the list.

There are also some new games I am playing. I am adding Smackdown VS Raw for PS2 and Utopia, a Browser Based stratagy game.

1.) Get the Golden Bolts I missed earlier in Rachet and Clank.

2.) Accualy win a match in Smackdown VS Raw

3.) Gain atleast 100 acres in Utopia through combat or the Paradise spell.

Weekly Challenges--February 28-March 5, 2006

Here are my goals for this week. Obviously I will have less time this week because I started the blog on a Tuesday. Normally this will run from Sunday to Sunday, with updates in between. Most (except the match in DOR2) will be esy for now. I am working on some writing projects and need to spend most of my free time on them.

1.) Get 150,000 bolts and buy the RHYNO in Ratchet and Clank.

2.) Win the Fatal Fourway Cage Match for the Intercontinental Championship in Day Of Reckoning 2.

3.) Get the Golden Bolts I missed earlier in Ratchet and Clank.
