The Iceman's Game Journal

After seeing Tim's Game Diary, I started this blog to give me some incentive to actually finish some of the 461+ video games I have (of which I have finished 41.) Hope it works.

Cooking Mama--Meatballs

Didn't do too great on this one. Had a bit of trouble with a few things, mainly weighing out the Meatballs, which I failed.

In the end, I did good enough to get 83 Points and a silver medal

I also unlocked Stuffed Peppers

Recipes Completes: 21
Gold Medals: 8

Onimusha--Defeat Fortinbras

Took me a few times, which wasn't too bad. I got to see a cool Rendered cut scene, which was a nice change from the in game cut scenes.

After the fight I got another rendered cut scene during which Samanosuke becomes the Onimusha for the first time. He looks a lot different then he does in the third game.

with the game beaten, I might go back and replay it. there were a few things I missed, some Flourite pieces to to get, at least 1 weapon I missed, and plenty of floors to clear int he dark realm. plus I only got a C. Killed 526 enemies in 5:11.

But I think I will play 2 first.

Onimusha--Defeat Marcellus

man this guy was tougher this time. It wasn't too bad when he had his shield, because I could just blast away with orb attacks and I kept getting souls. But once he lost the shield, He stopped releasing souls, meaning I had to rely on the Shippuu to defeat him.

One more boss to go. I better hurry if I want to beat the game before Church

Onimusha--Defeat Hecubus

Defeated Hecubus. Had to play as Kaede for a bit before I got to fight her, but in the end I won. took a while though. I had to keep recharging my Wind Orb attack, since that seemed to be the only attack that hit her every time.

One good thing about the fight. After it was over and we escaped, Kaede got injured, so I don't have to play as her anymore :)

I think I am almost done with the game. all weapons and orbs are maxed out, as is my health and magic bars.

That and the fact that there are only two more bosses listed in the Game Faqs strat guide I am using to get the boss names from (but no strategies unless I absolutely need them, which I haven's so far.)

Metroid Prime--Defeat Parasite Queen

Took all my missles and a blast from my charge beam, but I defeated the Parasite Queen. Ran out of the ship, making it out at literaly the last second and followed Ridley to Tallon IV

Now I have to find him.

Onimusha--Defeat Minotaur Master

I beat him last night. Didn't even realize he was a boss. I just thought it was a tough battle. When I went on Gamefaqs to find out who the next boss would be, I saw that he was it.

Opps.

When I first saw him and the three others with him, I thought it would be a tough fight, but I had all my orbs maxed out and I just ran in, attacking with the Wind orb. After that ran out I switched to Lightning and then Fire.

Ended up getting the rifle, and now on to the next boss.

Final Fantasy: Quest Of The Light Warriors

It's been a week, so I guess I should explain what I said last week about Final Fantasy. IT is one of my writing projects. in fact I had the first two chapters done a while ago, but stopped working on it because I stopped playing. It isn't something I am doing for money, although if SquareSoft wanted to pay me to do it, I would not complain, it is merely a labor of love for one of my favorite video games of all time.

After playing most of the other games (I think the series was up to 8 at that point, although I hadn't played 2, 3, or 5 yet) I decided to play the first game again, and was disappointed by what was once a great story. Unfortunately, after the great stories in the other games, I found myself a bit disappointed by the story in the first game. So I decided to create a new story, staying true to the original as much s possible, but changing some stuff to make it better.

As I said, some stuff has changed. For example they heroes do not know they are the light warriors at the start of the series. Part of their quest is to acquire the mystic orbs before they can restore light to them and save the world. There are some other charges too, but those will have to wait until I write it.

I am working on something simmilar for the Legend Of Zelda series as well, although that is much less developed and are a long wasy away from being officially announced.

No Weekly Challenges This Month: The Sequel

Taking this month off to get caught up on some writing, just like I did back in April.

Still going to play the big three though. Super Paper Mario, Onimusha, and Final Fantasy. Especially Final Fantasy, since that is one of the writing projects, but more on that later.

I'll be posting the accomplished goals as always, but won't be working to hard to finish them. Might play some other stuff too. I am having a craving for some Wii Tennis :)
