The Iceman's Game Journal

After seeing Tim's Game Diary, I started this blog to give me some incentive to actually finish some of the 461+ video games I have (of which I have finished 41.) Hope it works.

Too Much Violence in Video Games?

Last Thursday, Attack Of The Show did a segment with Jack Thompson. here is the segment.

In the end, Mark and Kevin made the most sense when they said that it is up to the parents to watch what their kids play. It is not up to me. It is not up to Jack Thompson. It is up to the parents. If the parents want their kids to plat games like San Andreas, then it is up to them and they need to take resonsibility for thier actions.

One thing that is interesting to note is the fact that Thompson says that kids trained to kill while playing Doom. Last time he said something like that (and got into a fight with Penny Arcade starting here.) he said the it was Grand Theft Auto that was training kids to kill. Dude needs to make up his mind.

Weekly Challenge--August 7-August 13, 2006

Man I did bad last week. In my defense, it wasn't for lack of trying. I had planned on beating the Warcraft challenge on Saturday, Guitar Hero challenge on Sunday, and the Star Wars Battlefront 2 challenge sometime between Friday and Monday. Then my brother showed up, which pretty much killed any hope of achieving any of those goals.

Like I said, I tried. I got to the second venue in Guitar Hero on Medium difficulty, and I tried to acchieve the Battlefront challenge, but I had some trouble in the battle above Kashyyyk.

Since I am posting this late int he week, I will only five myself some easy challenges. As far as I know, no relatives are going to show up, so I should be able to achieve them all this week :)

1.) Beat part 1 of Episode 2 in Viewtiful Joe.
2.) Beat Donut Plains in Super Mario World.
3.) Survive the battle above Kashyyyk in Star Wars: Battlefront 2.
4.) Finish medium difficulty in Guitar Hero.

Super Mario World--Yoshi's Island

I just finished Yoshi's Island. I was a little dissapointed with Iggy Kuppa. He was a lot harder when I faced him in Super Mario Bros 3. Doesn't matter though. I beat him and now it is on to Donut Plains.

Viewtiful Joe--Joe the Hero part 2

I beat the first epidose earlier today. Had some trouble beating Charles the Third, but I did. Took me a while though. I swear he cheated. And don't try telling me that the computer can't cheat. When I am one pixel away from him in slow-mo and he dodges my punch not once, but several times, I call it cheating.

Anyways, I beat him, and it is on to episode 2, where I will most likely get a new VFX power :)
