The Iceman's Game Journal

After seeing Tim's Game Diary, I started this blog to give me some incentive to actually finish some of the 461+ video games I have (of which I have finished 41.) Hope it works.

Shacknews Battle Theme?

found this while looking up info on the Zombie horde that conqured Yugoton while on a Mall Tour. It seems that this is sung while they are marching to their next target.

Now if you will excuse me, I have Zombies to kill.

RWF Results--November 17, 2006

The guys just left, and after much trash talking and several Nerf darts fired (2 of which are still missing) we finished our first night. the Intercontinental, WWE, World, and Tag Team titles were handed out, with the US and Woman's title still to go (why do I get the feeling I'm going to end up with the Woman's title.

Dan went home with the WWE title, and He and Jairus won the Tag Titles. Jason S won the IC title. I didn't win a single match, mainly because I suck. I had trouble getting up, and it wasn't until towards the end that I started to get a hang of the reversal system.

The best match of the night was easily the Money In The Bank Match for the World Title. While I didn't win, I did do a lot to help Jason Parker, who was playing as Kurt Angle, to win. I almost won, but then Ric Flair (dan Parker) knocked over the ladder. In the end I think I did the most good, whether it was keeping teem WWE (Jairus and Dan) from winning or protecting Jason.

So far Team WCW (me and Jason P) are off to a shaky start. We won the World title, but due to my inexperience we lost a lot of matchs. I'm definetly playing a bunch of SVR 2k5 and DOR, which has a similar reversal system to SVR 2k7 for 360. Next time we get together I might not win a title, but I will take home a win.

(BTW. Jason S and Caleb are team AWA.)

PS: The Cruiserweight title was on the line too. No physical belt, but it was still on the line. I think Caleb won that one, but I'm not sure. Jason P and I were talking about setting up a web site for all this, but we are still talking about it.

RWF 2006-2007 season begins tonight

Tonight the Redwood Wrestling Federation (for lack of a better name for the group) meets for the first time. Me, Jairus, Caleb, The Parker Brothers, and Jason S (I can never remember hwo to spell his last name.) are getting together to have a Smackdown VS Raw tournament. Jason Parker and I are teaming up against the teams of Dan/Jairus and Jason S/Caleb.

It should be interesting since, except for the Parkers, none of us have played the new SVR. Dan said that the reversal system is closer to the Gamecube system, so that might help me, although I jump back and forth between the cube and PS2 so often that it takes a few matchs before I remember which buttons reverse which moves.

With the exception of the legends, which haven't been divided up yet, we have a pretty good roster. We got Ken Kennedy, JBK, Kurt Angle, Edge, Undertaker, Hardcore Holly, Lita, RVD, Shelton Benjamine, Chris Masters, Murcury, Nitro, Paul Burchill, Gene Snitski, Chavo Gurrero, Millena, and Jillian Hall. There are a few guys that I think we both wanted, ad maybe we can trade for them, but it is still a good roster. Plus, with the Legends and the "Classic" rosters still to be divided up, we will hopefully be able to get some new members that will serve us well. (the Clasics are guys that the Parkers are making based on wrestlers who arn't in the game, such as Goldberg, Scott Steiner, C.M. Punk, and Christopher Danials.)

Tonight we are having tournaments to determine the title holders. (we have the toy title belts) If all goes well, I might have a decoration for the wall at the end of the night :)

Elite Beat Agents

I was kind of excited about this game. It sounded lik fun. Then I read the Metareview at Joystiqand found out that they stuck in some somes by Ashley Simpson, Avril Lavigne, and more.

I wasn't expecting AC/DC or ZZ Top. I have Guitar Hero and GH2 for musical greatness like that. I knew when I saw the commercials that it was mostlikely going to be a bunch of Techno crap like most rythem based games like DDR, but it looked like fun and like it made good use of the touch screan, do I was willing to look past the music. Now that they put the new songs in, I don't know if I want to play it or not.

Maybe I'll just rent it from Gamefly first.

Extreme Warfare: Revenge--Cult Status

YEAH! CZW has reached Cult Status!

In a little over 5 months I went from 49% Regional Public Image to 10% Cult. In that time I only lost money in 1 month, I had some really good fueds, 1 of which saw some Jobbers raise to Midcard status and win the Jounior Heavyweight and Submission titles. Attendance at the weekly shows increased by about 100 per show as well.

Part of it was the fact that I realized that people with similar styles work well togeather. Brawlers work well with brawlers, Technicals work well with technicals, ect. I also learned what matchs work best for each type of wrestler.

I made a list of the people in each divisionas well as their alignment, and I am trying to repeat the success I had with Dun VS Ryan Boz (The Jobbers I mentioned in the first paragraph.) So far it has worked great for 1 fued, and the other is about to start. Now that I am at a higher level, it should be interesting to see how long it takes me to reach National status.
