The Iceman's Game Journal

After seeing Tim's Game Diary, I started this blog to give me some incentive to actually finish some of the 461+ video games I have (of which I have finished 41.) Hope it works.

Defeat The Sixth Colossus--Shadow Of The Colossus

This one was cool. Entered the temple, climbed down a wall, and then the wall came to life! I was climbing on the Colossus with out even realizing it! The room seemed small, but then he smashed through the back wall, and then the wall after that. With the colossus chasing after me, smashing through walls after I climbed over them, it was like something in a movie.

i tried fighting him, but couldn't seem to find it weak point or even get onto him. I hid in small cave to try and figure out what to do, and then it leaned down, giving me an idea. I grabbed onto its beard and climbed up, finding the first week point on its head. I managed to hold on long enough to strike once, but fell off. After recovering for a bit, I got back on it and took out the first week point before dropping to the ground again, using the sword to find its next week point.

I was kind of excited when I thought it was on its butt. Finally I could stab one in the but for a reason other then to see what it would do! Unfortunately it was on its lower back. Took it out no problem, got hit by the tentacles, returned to the temple . Another Colossus down, a statue collapsed, and on tot he next Colossus.

6 down, 10 to go

Defeat the Fifth Colossus--Shadow Of The Colossus

Holy crap this guy was tough. Fist I had to find him. Not to hard, but not the easiest task either. Finally found him and the Dormin said to use my bow and arrows to get it's attention. So I did. Next thing I know I'm holding on for dear life to this flying beast's wings as it's flapping them! Got onto it's back and saw that it didn't have any fur on it's head, so I head for the next logical place to look for a week point, it's tail. It was there so I took it out, but he wasn't done yet. I headed back towards the head, but then it banked and I didn't grab it's fur soon enough, sending me for a swim. Finaly managed to get to a platform and found that it had decided to change it's flight patern, so I had to change positions and timing if I wanted to get back onto it.

Once on it's back, i looked around and notices fur on it's wing tips. sure enough that is where the other two week points were! (there was one on each wing.) Killed it and was rewarded with one of the coolest videos yet, and the shadow tendrils actually scared me, because it was quite a while from the time it died to the time they caught me. The music even stopped playing for a bit before they got me, causing me to jump when they did.

On to the next one!

5 Colossi down, 11 to go.

Weekly Challenges--April 28-May 4, 2008

Yes the Weekly Challenges are back. I know I haven't posted much for the last couple of months, but I haven't stopped playing. I started writing down goals completed in a TXT file, and I just haven't gotten around to posting them. I ended up completing about 20-30 goals, and that is assuming I don't count all the challenges I completed in Super Smash Bros Brawl.

In fact, that is mostly all I've been playing. played and beat Virtual Villagers, played some Mario 64, Wii Sports, and links Crossbow training, but Brawl has never been far from the the Wii. I don't even think I've fired up the PS2 since I got it.

but now I'm back and posting. I'll get those other posts up sooner or later, but for now I'm just going to move on. There is a post I will do tomorrow with rules for the Smash Bros posts, that applies to all the games, even the original once I get it either on N64 or virtual Console (Still surprised they haven't released it. Figured they would have when brawl was released.

Now on to this weeks goals!

1.) Play 20 matches in Super Smash Bros Brawl.
2.) Defeat 4 Colossi in Shadow Of The Colossus.
3.) Complete 2 missions in Rainbow 6.
4.) Finish Intermediate in Labyrinth.

It all makes perfect sense now (From the God Mode archives.)

I just played possibly the slowest possible match possible in Super Smash Bros Brawl; King DiDiDi VS Bowsers. And to make it even worse, it was in New Pork City, a horrible level for one on one battles. I'm just glad I forgot to set the timer to 5 minutes so I didn't have to sit through an extra 3 minutes of a boring match.
